Today I travelled up to Highbridge to stay with my friend Sandra for the weekend. On the way I stopped in Taunton to get my Sustrans card stamped at a bike shop. I was still on the look out for a new rear derailleur, and I asked if the owner had one available. The chap didn't have one in stock but kindly took one off a bike he had on display and sold it to me. I was suddenly relieved as ever since day 2 I had been having problems, and to have a spare one available gave a lot of reassurance. I was also allowed to park my bike in the shop's compound whilst I went into the Internet Cafe just down the road to catch up with my emails.
At one point whilst still on the Sustrans route I came across a bridge with a number of steps. I had to remove all of the luggage off my bike to get it up and over to the other side.
