Travelling on from Arisaig towards Mallaig to get the ferry I passed some lovely scenery and campsites in beautiful settings. I could have cycled just these extra few miles yesterday to stay the night at one of these!
Just short of Mallaig, I met a man from The Netherlands who was travelling with a group of cyclists. They were travelling together in a large coach and accommodation trailer. He accompanied me to Mallaig and showed me around the vehicle. I then stopped off at the well stocked Co-op and just got on the ferry in time before it departed for the Isle of Skye.
Arriving in Armadale, I asked at the ferry terminal for directions to the gaelic college, and was sent only another 2 miles up the road. I picked up a festival leaflet from the pasta bar by the pier and then made my way to the college. Camping during the festival turns out to be free and the season ticket is only £50 for two weeks; a bargain all round I think. I set up my tent next to the college and met Cathy and Donald from Glasgow. Tonight was the first night of the festival.
