Raining all day until 4pm, so I stay in the sleeping bag listening to the German Grand Prix on Radio 5 live, about the only radio station that can be received up here.
I am releived that the Spar shop is open in Lochcarron as many shops up here are closed on a Sunday.
In the evening I drop into the Lochcarron Hotel for a drink, and talk to the chef. I notice a set of plans on the pub wall, and he tells me about them. They are for a set of £20 million waste treatment improvements that have just been completed in the town. The catchment area only covers 2000 people but before the works, raw sewage was pumped directly into the Loch under heavy rain conditions. Seeing as there are 2 fish farms in the Loch, perhaps the European law that required the improvements to be built was not so bad after all.
